Adrenal Fatigue Got You Down?

Guest article by Glen Depke, Traditional Naturopath

Adrenal “Burnout” is a subject you’ll be hearing a lot more about. This week we have another guest article by traditional Naturopath Glen Depke, who shares some valuable information about this common condition.

Adrenal Fatigue Got You Down?

By Glen Depke, Traditional Naturopath

Do you have challenges with sleep, low sexual desire, weight gain in the midsection?

How about digestive challenges, endocrine challenges, poor immune function, low energy, poor muscular/skeletal health, poor mental clarity, inflammation, poor detoxification and/or blood sugar challenges?

If you answered yes to any of these, then it’s very possible you have adrenal insufficiency.

The adrenal glands are two walnut shaped glands that sit right above the kidneys. It is amazing the benefit that these two glands provide for the body and the amount of challenges that can be created when they’re not functioning optimally.  In addition to the laundry list of problems mentioned above, adrenal insufficiency can affect thyroid, pancreas and ovary function, metabolism of fat and protein, regulation of weight, mucosal tissue integrity, detoxification processes, immune system function, pro and anti-inflammatory states, cellular energy, glucose balance, bone and connective tissue turnover, muscular integrity, quality of sleep and mood, memory and learning ability and overall neural connectivity.

Wow…that is quite a lot of work for these two tiny little glands! Equally amazing is how often the adrenals are completely “run down” due to the demands of modern life.

Adrenal insufficiency is one of the major imbalances I consistently see with clients in my practice. Is this a surprise?  Hardly. Our mental and emotional states deeply impact the adrenals.

At Depke Wellness we do not treat the adrenals; we simply recognize adrenal imbalances and provide the necessary recommendations that will allow the body to balance and heal from within.  Your body has an innate ability to heal itself—all we have to do is provide balance and get out of the way.

I have found that the best assessment tool for adrenal imbalance is an adrenal saliva test kit.  The saliva test assesses levels of cortisol– the main adrenal hormone- at different points of time throughout the day. It also measures DHEA, another important adrenal hormone that has implications for well-being. These measures provide important information that allows you to address your imbalances properly and reach your goals of health and wellness.

For information on adrenal test kits please visit the Locations and Services link on my website, www.depkewellness.com And if you have further questions regarding the subject of adrenal insufficiency please visit www.AskDepkeWellness.com and post your question under Adrenal Insufficiency.  I will be more than happy to address your questions personally.

I can share that I have reviewed well over 2500 adrenal assessment kits over the years, yet I have only had 2 come back in normal ranges. Let’s be clear that these are assessments of health challenged individuals but this shows the magnitude of adrenal insufficiency in regard to health challenges. I am not saying that this is the end all of your health challenges but this is one area that you do not want to ignore.

I have suffered diabetes type 1 as a result of adrenal fatigue which I believe was direct result of suppressed emotions. is it still possible to cure myself from this emotional trauma? I am on a high fiber diet and excercise and I am feeling well now and reduced dependancy on insulin. I now take insulin only once in the evening instead of twice a day. I believe diabetes 1 is reversible with proper diet. I will decide to by energetic technique release after you reply me. I dont know which page I should use to ask question on your website. So I used this page. I

      Hi
I don’t know that it’s reversible but i’m pretty darn sure it’s improvable! you’ve even demonstrated that yourself! i’d suggest trying any technique you feel may help=- the connections between the mind and the body are enormous and i would never be one to say that something couldn’t work since every day i’d be proven wrong!

      good luck

I use the adrenal saliva test kits in my practice as well. The great thing about testing adrenals and hormones is that it gives a peek into other imbalances in the person’s body. Thanks for the post!
